As discussed in class, we are focusing on 2 different types of questions.
1.) Simple Questions - These are questions that can be answered very quickly, simply by reading a chapter or line of text.
Eg. Question: What did Cole receive from Garvey?
Answer: Cole received a special blanket, called an, "Atoow!"
2.) Deep Questions - These are questions that cannot be answered simply by reading a chapter and looking for the answer. These types of questions require deep thought and usually require INFERENCING skills to answer them. As review, INFERENCING is the process of drawing a conclusion based on what you already know.
Eg. Why do you think Cole behaves so poorly?
What do you think the atoow represents and why?
Do you think Cole will recover from being mauled by the bear?
Your assignment today, is to write out 2 simple questions and 2 deep questions based on what we read in class today. (If you were away today, base it on previous readings). Remember to use some of the phrases that we went over in class today.
INSTRUCTIONS:
1.) Write in your LA notebook, your 4 different questions.
2.) Edit your work in a red pen.
3.) Blog all your questions in a neat, organized, and easy to read manner.
Q- Why does Cole think that he can beat up animals, I think that is just animal abuse to me.

I- I could see Cole lying on the ground snd he was saying " stop just stop."
L- I found the word bio and I didn't know what it ment so I think it means going green or something like that, I have herd that word before but I just forgot what it ment

I- I had a very gross image in my head of when he vomited and when the birds were fighting over his own flesh!
L- I don't know what flesh means but I think it might be a part of our body.

i-I had a clear image of when Cole was watching the birds and felt that the birds did not get to be treated well cause he never was.
l-I do not know what shrouded means but think its like cloudy or depressing.

1.)Cole thinks that he woulden't be on this island if other people didn't come up with these ideas. Cole also thinks that nothing was his fault. Do you think Cole is right, that he shoulden't be on this island because he dosen't deserve it and nothing is his fault? Why? Or why not?
2.)A terrible storm happens on the island and all of a sudden Cole is worried about them and askes them "are you ok?" Cole first hated them and now is worried about them. Why do you think Cole is acting like this now?
